Yet Another Zombie Survivors Tier List for 1.0

This Yet Another Zombie Survivors tier list compares all nine 1.0 Survivors for beginner safety, long runs, and team support with clear test limits.

This Yet Another Zombie Survivors tier list does not claim one official ranking: Tank and SWAT are the first characters to test for forgiving general play, while Ghost and Huntress show higher potential after a build comes together. Medic, Engineer, and Mechanic are more dependent on team needs and unlocked nodes, Pyro is associated with elemental area damage, and Ranger remains provisional because version 1.0 evidence is still limited. Use the three role-based lists below instead of treating one S-to-D order as valid for every leader, map, mode, and progression level.

How this tier list is judged

A useful comparison must hold the game version, mode, difficulty, leader, permanent skill-tree completion, and squad composition as steady as possible. Changing several of those conditions at once makes it impossible to know whether a Survivor, an unlocked node, or the surrounding team caused the result. Final damage alone is also incomplete because control, recovery, positioning tolerance, and elite pressure can decide whether a run continues.

This page therefore uses three lenses: beginner forgiveness, long-run potential, and team support. The same Survivor can belong near the top of one list and lower in another without creating a contradiction. That approach follows the collected evidence more closely than repeating a single historical video ranking made when the roster contained only six characters.

Beginner safety tier

Tank and SWAT belong in the first group a new player should test. Post-1.0 discussion commonly treats them as dependable general cores, and their straightforward roles make the cause of a failed run easier to understand. Their placement means high tolerance and a clear starting plan, not proof that either character wins every mode.

Huntress can follow once the player understands how team support and critical-focused choices fit a weapon plan. Ghost has strong community recognition around Thousand Cuts, but close-range clearing asks the player to understand positioning and the effect of a completed route. Medic, Engineer, and Mechanic can solve important problems, yet their value is clearer after the player can identify whether the squad needs recovery, barriers, zones, or ability interaction.

Pyro is associated with elemental and area damage in the collected role summaries. Ranger arrived with version 1.0 and brings critical, luck, companion, and healing support themes, but comparable post-release samples remain thinner than for the established roster. 待确认:Ranger's stable beginner placement requires same-condition 1.0 runs rather than extrapolation from launch descriptions.

Long-run and Endurance potential

Long runs reward sustained clearing, scaling, control, and survival rather than a short burst of final-screen damage. Ghost and Huntress are strong candidates to test after their relevant routes and supporting team are available, because community discussion repeatedly connects them with focused clearing and team-wide support. Their result still depends on map, mode, leader choice, and the permanent nodes already unlocked.

Tank and SWAT remain relevant because dependable output and tolerance do not stop mattering when a run becomes longer. Medic can rise when recovery is the constraint, while Engineer or Mechanic can rise when barriers, zones, or ability interactions prevent pressure from becoming unmanageable. A long-run list should therefore record how far the build remained stable and why it failed, not just which Survivor produced the largest number.

The best-team guide includes a community-reported Huntress, Ghost, and Medic endurance candidate. That report is a useful test lead, not a guaranteed Infinite answer, because the collected example does not standardize every progression variable. Reproduce candidates on the same arena and settings before promoting them in a current ranking.

Team-support tier

Huntress is an important support candidate for critical and weapon-oriented squads in the collected community material. Medic is defined more by recovery, while Engineer and Mechanic contribute control, barriers, zones, or ability-centered interaction depending on the selected nodes. These functions can raise the whole squad's stability even when the supporting character does not lead the damage summary.

Tank and SWAT can also act as anchors because a support slot only matters when the team retains dependable damage. Ghost becomes more attractive when a Slash-focused plan can connect Thousand Cuts with compatible damage tags and teammates. Pyro and Ranger belong in element- or node-specific tests rather than receiving a universal support position without the relevant in-game cards recorded.

What version 1.0 changed

The official 1.0 notes reduce Tank's Sawblade Drone final damage from 200 to 150. They also reduce Ghost's Kunai Dance final damage from 250 to 150, increase Shuriken final damage from 350 to 400, and increase Windcutter range. These changes make pre-release conclusions about Tank and Ghost unsuitable for direct reuse even when the older build idea remains recognizable.

Huntress's tier-two and tier-three weapon firing arc changed from 30 to 20. That narrower arc can affect how comfortably a ranged build covers space, so older praise for wide coverage needs a current test rather than a copied placement. The changes do not prove that Tank, Ghost, or Huntress became weak; they show why a version label is essential to any ranking.

Ranger is the ninth Survivor added with version 1.0. A new character does not have the same volume of comparable community runs as characters available through Early Access. 待确认:Ranger should remain provisional until tests use the same mode, difficulty, leader rules, skill-tree completion, and squad framework applied to the rest of the roster.

A practical three-list summary

For beginner forgiveness, start testing Tank and SWAT, then compare Huntress or Ghost once their build direction is understood. For long-run potential, test Ghost and Huntress within complete squads while retaining Tank, SWAT, or Medic when their stability function solves the observed failure. For team support, compare Huntress, Medic, Engineer, and Mechanic by the specific benefit their selected nodes add rather than ranking support by damage alone.

Pyro should be evaluated inside elemental and area-focused plans, and Ranger needs a provisional label until more controlled 1.0 evidence exists. None of these categories is an official developer ranking, and none removes the effect of player movement. The list is a starting order for testing, not a substitute for testing.

How to verify a placement yourself

Choose one version, arena, mode, difficulty, leader rule, and permanent-progression state before comparing Survivors. Record the squad, unlocked Synergies, major weapon route, survival time, crowd-control failures, elite or boss pressure, and recovery problems for each run. Repeat the comparison instead of promoting a character after one unusually strong or weak attempt.

When a placement changes, explain the condition that changed it. A Survivor moving upward because the squad gained a needed barrier is different from a universal damage improvement, while a lower result after losing a required Synergy does not prove the character is broadly weak. Continue from this ranking to the synergy guide and best-team guide so the surrounding build is evaluated with the character.
